Welcome to Italk Project

What's Italk?

Italk is a chat system consisting of servers, clients and many tools, and:

• easy to run, easy to maintain on a UNIX or Windows stand-alone server,
• easy to participate in with various clients such as telnet(1), Windows, Emacs, Java and CGI gateway,
• open to new comers (that is, fit for a small human community), and
• all logs are published to the Internet via a WWW server.

Italk is since July 1995 and many softwares are freely available now. We have just started the effort for documentation, which will be available here.
